I did not attend this 10/19/12 – 10/21/12 trip, but Dr. Wells did give a summary:
Though I just dropped in briefly and did none of the hard work, the Troop had a fantastic pioneering tower project constructed of bamboo yesterday at the Ag CenterCamporee, with all the boys becoming expert lacers, and all materials provided by Mr. Prock, with leadership by the boys and dads in attendance. The Camporee staff told the Troop that if there had been prizes given out for such projects, our Troop certainly would have won FIRST PRIZE. The tower had a bamboo ladder and the tower platform from which the flags were flown was around 15 feet high or so.
The adult team of Mr. Prock and Mr. Andry did win FIRST PRIZE for the dutch oven cook-off which was composed of, in Mr. Andry’s words, “organic, free-range, single-shot venison” and was turned into a great tasting chili. Mr. Prock artistically provided the “Fleur-de-Lis” design in the tasty Bisquick breaded topping. Many photos were taken and will become available for viewing.
